This is an exercise that shows the relevance that different layers of sound can influence our perception in a “simple” video game.

The original set of videos included (some) sound, yet this sound was totally replaced.

Scene 1

Sound FX / Sound Design

Different sounds were created using synthesizers and audio-processing techniques to represent various movements, characters, and game actions.

Music

Music was then written and added on top of the sound effects to help increase the excitement of this particular game scene. Some adjustments to the sound effects were also required to better accommodate the music and create a more enthusiastic environment.

Scene 2

Sound FX / Sound Design

In this second scene, a lot of sounds from the first scene were kept since the environment is the same. Yet, the player character is this time more equipped (with flying equipment, etc.). In order to accommodate this new reality, sounds that reflect this were created and added.

Music

As in the first example, music was added to the sound effects to create a more exciting game environment. The same musical identity was kept and for that reason, a lot of the same instruments timbers were used. This time with different musical ideas to demonstrate a different moment from the game.
